All Wrapped Up: The Rolfing Technique Gets Deep

Ten, even five years ago, mention of the word “Rolfing” or “structural integration” likely elicited quite a few blank stares. And most people outside the holistic health industry probably never considered that their everyday aches and pains could be associated with connective tissue. But today, like many other holistic therapies, structural integration (SI) is a growing field. As more and more people are realizing that they don’t have to live with bodily discomforts, poor posture -- and the stress these ailments create -- they are actively seeking new solutions.

Breathing Room: Yoga and Massage Practice

By nature, massage therapists and bodyworkers are givers – all day long, they give their clients relaxation, relief, and rejuvenation. The profession revolves around helping people. With this constant outpouring of positive energy and healing, it’s no wonder why burnout is so high in the massage therapy profession, especially if you forget to take care of yourself and allow your own well-being to be compromised.
